Jazz up for Easter!

Hello ladies,

It is Easter today and some of you are yet to figure out what will be your outfit tonight. You might be thinking that almost every other girl at the Easter bash would turn up in a dress and you don't wish to be one of them. You are probably thinking to try out something different to stand out from the rest. Worry less and read on as I help you decide over what you can think of trying out this Easter.

I have put together a jazzed up look with a red-black checks jacket paired with black jeggings. I wore a black camisole inside the jacket to compliment the black mesh jeggings. Since, the curves of the jacket accentuate my waist, I went for black strappy heels as footwear to further define the shape of my hips. To make this look even more fab I added some chunky jewellery like the diamond studded long necklace and round silver studs. I also, added an edgy bag to bring out the edgy feel of the look.

As a bash calls for gorgeous make-up, I did a smokey cat eye with black and beige eye shadows. With the colour of my jacket being red, I carried the same to my lips in order to help let red dominate the look. One can never go wrong with red as far as making a style statement is concerned. However, it is a tricky colour and you need to be very careful while playing around with red as any wrong proportions of it could lead to a fashion disaster. To help you know how tied up and let down hair would look with this outfit, I styled my hair in both ways.

Give this look a try tonight and rock the Easter party with it!

Wish you all a very Happy Easter!

The Hoddie Swag!

The approaching Summer heat is forcing all our sweatshirts and hoodies deep inside our closets. As we bid adieu to the winters, I simply can't keep myself from putting up one post for the last time with a hoodie look. Hoodies are such a friendly wear that I won't mind having winters all year round just for the sake of being able to wear them day in and day out.

The hoodie I wore is a midnight blue sweatshirt with the word 'champ' in bold letters and font. The colour is my weakness and that is what made me pick it out of other colours that were available. The best part is that it is not too oversized and the small size fits me so well. Usually, hoodies look good when they are oversized but I personally don't like them that way as it makes me look even more slimmer.  If you go out to buy one, make sure it is of the size you wear and not a size bigger as the one of your size is bound to be slightly bigger.

I paired this hoodie with my most favourite jeans currently in my wardrobe. It is a light blue white washed ankle length jeans. It has got zips at the ankles and is low waist. It is super comfy and fits me like a dream. For my size it sometimes gets too difficult to get a pair of jeans that fits so perfectly but this one just ends my search.

I am wearing black shoes that add to the swag of this look! A watch is all I have added in terms of accessories. Hair I kept open but you all can try out a high pony tail style. It would look equally good. For make-up, I did a winged eye and generous amount of mascara on eye lashes and lip paint on lips.

Therapeutic Colaba Causeway Haul

Hello Peeps,

I spent this Sunday doing what I love to the core- shopping! It had been quite some time since I shopped and so I thought of going to Colaba Causeway. As days are getting hotter in Mumbai, I went looking for some Summery stuff. You might have come across numerous Colaba hauls that involve accessories and jewellery. But I decided to restrict myself to just clothes and footwear so as to break any myth you hold about Colaba being only a jewellery and accessories shopping destination.

I shopped four tops, one jeans and a pair of flats. The first top I shopped is a nautical lines T-shirt that I was on the look out of since ages! It can go well with a solid coloured skirt or I can just pair it up with a jacket for a formal look. Along with this top I got another T-shirt that has a perfume bottle full of bling. It is the quality and the bling of the top that I got attracted to. The next thing I shopped is an off shoulder baby pink top with words that I truly believe in. I had no second thoughts while buying it just because of the words. I then bought a DNMX denim crop top as my denim collection lacked one.

Other than the tops I bought a pair of distressed high rise jeans. It serves my purpose of owning a high rise and distressed jeans in one. I also shopped a pair of flats not because of the brand name on them but for their versatility to be paired with a kurti as well as a western wear.

I feel shopping can at times be so therapeutic and that there is no better stress buster! I have some looks in mind for all of the stuff I shopped and they would be featured soon on the blog. To see how I style them make sure you drop in here again!

Let me know which ones you adore?

Price list:

Nautical T-shirt- Rs 200
Off shoulder top- Rs 200
White T-shirt- Rs 250
DNMX denim crop top - 250
Jeans- Rs 600
Flats- Rs 200

Different Take On The Work Wear

Hello Missies,

We all are pretty good at deciding what to wear when it comes to casuals. We also, at times have a fixed style of our own for it like jeans and t-shirts, solid coloured pants and crop, maxi or tank tops. We know the art of rocking a party or traditional look too. However, when it comes to work wear we are in a fix! We usually stick to trousers and shirts or Indian formals. Very few of us go ahead and experiment with a formal look. Most of us don't, thinking who has the time in the world to go out for work all dressed up? But there's no harm in doing so once in a while, as how you dress is how you feel.  I therefore believe dressing up can add large chunks of confidence to your personality while at work.

So, I decided to put together a work wear look that is thoroughly elegant and would bring out the diva in you. I paired a beige pencil skirt with pleated sleeveless black top. The top has got a round neckline with some sequin detailing. Both black and beige are counted in the formal colour palette. The length of skirt (just below the knees) too fits the formal rule. In order to bring the sleeveless top from the semi-formal world into the formal one I added a long black robe-like full sleeve shrug. This is where I went a step further to experiment with the look and make it different from what it otherwise would have. The shrug is a substitute for a blazer and keeps the look from crossing the border of formal wear.

For footwear I went for black strapped heels, although black pumps would have made it more formal. It is the width of the straps that cover most of my feet leaving only some part of my toe to be seen just as it would have in a peep toe. Now a days peep toes are accepted in formals. Accessories have been restricted to simple round diamond studs and a watch. The watch has a round dial and a nude belt, again something that keep the look suitable for work. The sunglasses are a fancy add on to protect my tiny eyes from sun. The gorgeous mustard yellow sling is a latest entrant into my bag collection and is bound to draw some eye balls.

Make-up includes a straight and regular style eye liner with nude eye shadow on the eye lids, some amount of mascara on eye lashes and BB cream as a base for face. Lipstick is yet another differentiator with plum shade, a colour many of us hesitate to try. Hair, I have kept open but if you are to head to a formal meeting or a presentation, then I suggest you tie it up.

Dolled up in Roses!

Hello Girlies,

I missed a post this Sunday as I was busy putting together some looks for the blogs to come. This weekend I went Pune for photo-shoot and did it near my farm house. The idea this time was to create a very adorable look that you can wear for a date!

So, I wore a cute skater dress from Prima Diva,  a brand at Central. It is a peach coloured dress with beautiful red roses print.  To highlight the subtle red roses, I paired this dress with a hot red sling with quilting detail from Oriflame. In order to match the golden chain of the sling, I added some golden jewellery pieces like the tribal layered necklace from Splash and geometric cuff bracelet. I did not want to go for heels this time as that would have killed the innocence of this attire. Hence, I went for nude bellies with studded bling dots from the brand Head Over Heels of Westside that added to the cute factor of the look.

I carried the red theme of the look on my lips and nails too. I went for a peachy blush to compliment the peach colour of the dress. I didn't go for a dramatic eye look as that would not have been a good idea to do so with my lips painted red. To strike a balance and to not let the make-up look over done, I went for a winged eye look with some amount of mascara on my eye lashes. My gorgeous tresses were left open to let them dance to the tune of the wind!
