Turning some heads in my LBD

Hello lovelies,

It is my 4th post on the blog and while deciding what it should be about, the first thing that came to my mind was a little black dress. It is a wardrobe essential that each one of us must own. The versatility of this dress to be styled up and down as per occasions makes it a staple of the wardrobe.

I had a food tasting event to attend at the Korum Mall for 4 restaurants - Copper Pan, Ghass Phoss, The Woking Mama and Panchavati Gaurav and wearing a LBD to such an evening made a perfect sense.

The LBD I wore is from Mineral. It is an A-line dress in a sultry fabric and has a beautiful border of black lace at the end. The dress in itself is a style statement, however taking the mood of the event into consideration I chose to style it up with some bling jewellery. The rhinestone studded necklace, if you are following me on Instagram you would know is from Splash. The earrings I am wearing are a lucky find from a jewellery stall at Ghatkopar Metro station. The pink gold hand cuff and the adorable black shoes too are from a shopping splurge I made there.

To keep the make-up divaish, I went for a coral red lip stick of Demi Moore by Oriflame and sported the winged eye liner look. I left my hair open as it was a good hair day and I just couldn't do without flaunting my soft curls!

Keep it Simple Girly!

 Howdy everyone!

It was my sister's birthday last week and she decided to treat us at Ghass Phoss, a veg restaurant in Korum Mall, Thane. Since, it was a family dinner that we were heading to I did not want to wear anything that's to flashy or over the top. Nor did I wish to get into jeans or any kind of pants for that matter as I had just come from a hectic day in office and wanted to keep it comfy yet pretty!

So, I pulled this dainty dress out of my closet that met all my needs to keep it simple and cute. It is a little white dress from Prima Diva a brand at Central. It has floral print in blue, pink and caramel hues that add to the softer look of this dress. I added a brown belt just to sinch it at the waist so as to make it look nicely fitted. If you are of the size L or XL doing so could draw attention to your waist, thereby making you look slimmer and in shape.

I then went on to experiment more with this look by adding a pastel blue cardigan over the dress and it worked wonders. It perfectly breaks the monotony of everything white that I wore- my footwear, watch, earrings and the dress!

Make up has been kept to minimal as I said before I just wanted to keep it low this time. Just a dash of eye liner on my eyes clubbed with nude pink lipstick and minor degree of pink blush to make my tired face look fresh is what I chose to go for.

For times when we are not sure what to wear to a friend's birthday treat or when we are just too tired to go for a dolled up look, going for something as simple as this that still qualifies for occasions like these would be a right step.

Let me know in the comments how you would have styled this sober outfit and worn it for which occasion. Till then stay tuned for more looks on my blog!

Getting Comfy in Palazzos

Hola Chicas,

I got caught up with my new job and so couldn't spare time for my blog last week. But I managed to get time this weekend and hence went out for a shoot yesterday in order to put up this look for you.

In this look, I am wearing a mustard colour palazzos colour blocked with a black layered crop top. To gel with the colour blocking I added a red sling to the look. I have kept the accessories to minimal with a long sleek chained necklace with a black bow pendant. I did not want to wear a watch that is black, red or mustard so I went for a pink nude watch. Usually palzzos look great when you wear wedges but I tried to experiment by going in for flats and they still made a pretty good pair!

Overall the look inclines to the retro side. With palazzos being the most comfy bottoms of all time, you can wear them to occasions where you have to walk a lot like shopping or for sight seeing. Another great thing about palazzos is that they make you look very elegant. The moment you wear them you go from looking like a girl to a lady!

If you are someone who has bought a palazzo but is hesitant to wear it because you are not sure what to team it up with then I suggest you try a contrasting solid colour crop top, the way I did. In terms of bags, either go for a tote or sling depending upon your needs and you would be all set to rock it.
