Own the season trend: Burnt Orange

Monochrome is a huge trend this season. But what's even bigger is the colour burnt orange. From runways to Instagram feeds, it seems to have taken over everything. It is the colour you want to shop for pants, crop tops, skirts, holiday wear and almost every kind of outfit you can imagine. Pick up any millennial brand and you will find a monochrome dress in this colour with them. I happened to get my hands onto this one at Central Fashion, with their Hey brand!

I went about styling it with a tan tote bag and black bellies. It is a difficult to style colour, so I decided to go with dainty jewellery and classic golden loops. Don't pair statement pieces with this one, the colour is too bold enough to make a statement in itself and you don't want to over do it. I paired a tan belted watch along and left my hair open. Pulling back my hair into a bun or up do would have made the outfit look larger than life for me. So, keep your body type in mind while styling your hair for this one.

With so much colour already on me, I choose not to go too colourful with my make-up. Instead, I went for nudes. Nude lipstick, nude eye shadow and a classic black winged liner. It all helped do the trick!

Button-down dresses are in vogue and I love to have them in my wardrobe. I have four to five of them already and adding this one in the colour of the season in 2019 to my collection, only makes me want to have more and more of them. They could be wore as casuals, for shopping sprees, brunches, at movies, at dates to at meetings, office and as formal wears provided they are in subtle hues.

Let me know in comments what do you plan to shop next in the colour of the season, burnt orange?

The Summer Soul

Hello, chicas!

Summer is just around the corner, and you must be already dreaming of a vacation. Well, so am I! Strolling around beaches, watching scintillating blue waters, gorgeous palm trees and me in a chic beach dress, tan sandals, retro sunglasses, woven straw bag and hat, is simply how I imagine it to be. This 'beach calling', 'vacay craving' mood got me to style this broderie wrap skater dress, for it makes perfect resort wear!

What I absolutely love about this dress is that it's a wrap dress. Bang on in trend for the 2019 summer! It comes with a cute belt, frill hem and multi-tier sleeves. I know there's a lot going on, but it all accounts to look great together.

I styled it with a tan sling, though a woven rattan basket bag would have ideally looked best. I would have styled it with this, but I am waiting to go on a vacation to Bali so that I can shop a woven rattan basket bag from there. Yeah, that is the extent to which I go to, in order to shop what I need. Coming back to styling, I paired a dainty layered necklace and geometric earrings with the dress. How I wish, I could pair tap sandals with this but I went for what I had, which is nude pumps. I like how they don't take away the attention from the dress and make it look short and fun, just how it ideally should.

Let me know where would you imagine wearing this outfit in comments, till then I will go back to dream of a vacation where I could possibly wear this!

Tailored To Perfection

Hello girlies!

I am a huge fan of Amal Clooney, not only for what an awesomesauce woman she makes but also for her style. There has been no outfit, no look of hers that turned me off till date. She nails all of them and with a great elegance. Her tailored formal outfit looks are the inspiration behind this one. It hugely excites me as I type out this blog because I know no matter how hard I try, I can't reach even 00.001% of her style, but I am glad to have given it a shot and love what it turns out to be!

Luck struck me while I was casually checking out Koovs sale the other day and happened to come across this skater dress. It took me by surprise with the absolutely gorgeous mint colour, perfect tailored detailing, the dream like frills on sleeve and the dapper button down pattern. I was amused by how could anything having so much going on yet be so lovely and for a steal deal!

I styled it with a tan sling, nude pumps, dainty gold necklace and geometric earrings. Since, it was a look that serves as a great formal wear idea, a watch was a must. For lips I chose, the colour of the year, "living coral" and added a nude matte eyeshadow on my eyelids. To sum it up, I went for a classic black pair of sunglasses and brushed my tresses open.

This outfit has gone on to become one of my favourite ones with this look, what do you think? Isn't it too good enough to obsess so much over it? Put your thoughts in comments!

Denim Domination

Hey lovelies,

Have the "chilly like never before" Mumbai winters put you in a fix in terms of what to reach out to in your wardrobe other than sweaters and sweatshirts? Well, the solution lies right in front of your eyes which you may have taken for granted in this weather. It is what you are saving up for the summers, the denim jackets!

If you are someone who could take some chill but not spend the whole weather wearing jeans and leggings, then denim jackets could be a great way to layer up over your dresses. Add a pair of boots and that should suffice to help beat Mumbai chills. Don't worry about invite eye rolls your way with those boots because probably this time even they are thinking to take their boots out on a walk on Mumbai streets.

I threw a basic denim jacket over the classic white tee and a washy effect pair of jeans. I paired a sling in blush pink colour with it. Nude make-up is the trend of the year and that turned out to be a perfect fit for this look!

To break the monotony of blue caused by the denim over denim look, I went for tangy nail colour. Love the way it makes my nails stand out. How did you find the look? Also, what would you team the denim jacket with this season? Lemme know in comments Chicas!

Basics Revisited

October marks the come back of the heat wave in Mumbai. It's the month when the weather seems to get a little confused between the monsoon and the winter. The confusion culminates into it landing into what feels nothing else but like summers. This has got me resort to summer basics full of florals and bright colours before I step into the chilly weather of fur boots, coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies and cardigans.

I have put together an "I don't feel like wearing a dress, nor do I want to wear skirts, I think I will go with my most favourite pair of denims," kinda look! I teamed a fresh mango ice cream coloured tank top with floral motifs with my most comfy pair of denim jeggings. To add some spunk I went for a pair of metallic silver shoes and metallic gold earrings thereby breaking the fashion rule of, "Silver and gold are a big no-no!" The red sling helped add warmth to the look while the clear glasses gave it a hint of retro quotient.

Overall it has turned out to be a basics styled like not so basics type of look. I hope you enjoyed it and would love to know your take on how else would you style a basics revisited look in comments.

The Monsoon Romance

I have always been a sucker for ruffles, puff sleeves and floral styles. It makes for a timeless piece, giving you an elegant look provided you balance out the cuteness of it. I have put together a chicish look, by teaming up a grey ruffled paper bag waist palazzo with my sea green floral print puff sleeved crop top.

I got both of these from Bangkok. In fact, even the burgundy red sling bag is from my last shopping in this capital of city of Thailand. To further enhance the elegance of the look, I paired my nude pumps along. Dainty earrings were added as quintessential items for this kind of look.

To avoid looking cute and kiddish with the puff sleeves, I went for a clear pair of aviator glasses. They immediately made me look more mature and lady like. While fresher tones of lipsticks like pink and red can make you younger, I went for a more warm toned plumish lip colour. I gave a miss to bracelets or watch to avoid looking over accessorised. However, I wore a statement ring from keeping my hands look completely empty.

To top all of it, I paired a super chic pink umbrella with a lace my sister got me from Bangkok. You may watch what more stuff we got from there in my Bangkok shopping haul video up on my YouTube channel.

Let me know how did you find this look which can work wonders as a date or even as a semi-formal look.

Shopping On A Budget #fbbFashionHaul

Hey Girls!

The sale season has hit the malls and it gets hard to resist the urge to shop especially when you are on a budget. Rather than shopping outfits that are similar to what you already own, it is a wise idea to make a list of what you badly need in such a case. I did some mindful shopping in the fbb sale and grabbed some steal deals under Rs. 1000. Take a look below!

1. Summer Ready
Since I had already shopped enough for winter wear in the last few months, I went looking for summer wear in the fbb sale. I found this tropical oh so breezy off shoulder top for a flat 40% off. Can't wait to style it with tassel earrings and my favourite pair of Lee Copper jeggings that I got from the sale.

2. Gingham Gurl
Gingham has been such a huge trend last year and I don't see it going anywhere any soon. I didn't wish to go for the most commonly spotted off shoulder gingham top or a bell sleeves dress. Instead I came across this very interesting Gingham shirt with a tropical twist in the fbb sale for a flat 40% off! I loved this one so much that you will find me styling it in my next blog post.

3. Boho Missy
I remember eyeing this same dress in red colour the last time I went shopping to fbb. When I saw this on a flat 40% off I had to bring it home. It is so wearable, comfortable and summer friendly that I already see myself wearing it way too often in the coming months.

4. Bling Blazer
This midnight blue blazer with bling all over it makes for a dreamy wardrobe must have. It is going to up the style game of any outfit as soon as you slip it on. The best part is that it was for a  flat 50% off in the fbb sale. It was the one steal deal that I came across in the sale.

5. Most Wanted Jeggings
Finding the right pair of denims for me is a task. When I tried these pair of Lee Copper denims, I felt I found my soulmate in them. They fit me so well! I decided to pick one in black and one in blue because I am going to be wearing them every now and then. They were at a pleasing discount of flat 50%!

Other than these there was a lot of amazing stuff in the sale. Boots, leather jackets, fur jackets, sweat shirts, denims and party dresses. It was one of the most smart shopping spree I went on and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Let me know your thoughts on which one was the best buy in comments!

Just Jacket Up!

Hola chicas!

The city is beginning to get the chills and for a change they are chilled enough to bring out our winter wear from of wardrobes. That pair of boots, that leather jacket or that oversized sweater which you bought with a huge hope that Mumbai will someday get cold enough for them can finally make an appearance this season!

fbb has come out with massive winter wear collection that includes fur hoodies, embroidery sweatshirts, sweaters, slayful boots and leather jackets. I happened to pick few of these and chose to style the leather jacket.

Velvet is totally in vogue this season and will continue to be so for quite a while. Hence, I paired the fbb leather jacket with it. For bottoms I picked a super comfortable knitted pair of leggings and gave denims a miss this time. Footwear had to be a kick-ass pair of boots to balance out the oomp oozing out of the leather jacket. Overall it turned out to be the most comfortable chic biker look you would come across for the winters.

Comment and let me know how would you style a leather jacket and would you pick the same black one like I did or choose to go for some other hue like beige or brown from fbb's leather jackets collection!

Hey Girlies!

The festival of legit shopping spree in here and by now most of you would have shopped 5 outfits for all 5 days of Diwali. But those few of you who are still caught up in work and have been too busy enough to head out to shop, I am revealing two of my Diwali outfits from fbb. They should help you with your last minute buys and give you a good idea about the latest festive collection of fbb!

Read on to catch a look of what stole my heart from fbb's festive collection so much that I had to freeze it as my Diwali outfit.

1. Laxmi Pujan Look

This golden sequin crop top came into my life like a blessing! The day I spotted it at fbb I fell head over heels for it. I knew I had bagged a great item for my closet that offers versatility like none other item. The next thing I stumbled upon was this gorgeous black lehenga with adorable lotus print. Put together they made the outfit of my dreams come to life for Diwali. So, here's how I styled it, simply with pearl drop gold plated earrings to look like a diva on the eve of Laxmi Pujan!

2. Bhaidooj Look

Out of all the wonderfully designed kurtis in fbb's Diwali collection, I happened to like this one particularly. It is very wearable on regular basis to office and at the same time when styled well screams festive. For bottoms, I chose a pair of black leggings with festive print. The outfit in total is next level comfort and style put together. When first four days of Diwali exhaust you with lehengas, sarees and anarkalis, you need something like this in your life to give you a break from the discomfort all of them put you through. For Diwali dinners with friends or even for Diwali celebrations at your office, this outfit serves the purpose well!

If you end up loving any of the above or are interested in checking out fbb's festive collection, I have something in store for you. A super fun and exciting contest is coming up on my Instagram, stay tuned for it. I am giving away vouchers worth Rs 1000 to you guys, so don't forget to check it out.
